King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands were among the guests celebrating the start of a new royal era in Luxembourg as Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie ascended the throne.

Grand Duke Henri, 70, had held the title for 25 years but abdicated in favour of his son, who was crowned in a ceremony at the Grand Ducal Palace in the tiny European country.
