A packed itinerary for Royal Week in Scotland covers everything from a library opening to a whisky tasting

It is a staple in the royal family's calendar and the King and Queen appeared to enjoy Royal Week in Scotland more than ever last week, despite the odd downpour.
The monarch was greeted by pipes, drums and bows and arrows as he began by inspecting The Royal Company of Archers, The King’s Bodyguard for Scotland, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, before taking part in the traditional Ceremony of the Keys to welcome him to Edinburgh.
During the ceremony, His Majesty was presented with the keys to the city by Lord Provost Robert Aldridge, touching them symbolically before returning them to him for “safe keeping”.
