The Prince of Wales rubbed shoulders with shoulders with rock'n'roll royalty at the annual Tusk Conservation Awards last week, when he revealed that his six-year-old son Prince Louis is learning to play the drums.

Chatting to Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood and Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler at a reception ahead of the ceremony in London's Savoy hotel, William joked: "My youngest is learning the drums - and that's why I spend my entire life with my fingers in my ears." Ronnie, who attended the event with his wife Sally, is an ambassador for the African wildlife conservation charity, while Mark raised £600,000 by auctioning items from his extensive guitar collection.

"Thanks for your support," the Prince told the pair.
