'I'M OBSESSIVE ABOUT CHRISTMAS'

As she stars in her first Christmas film, Michelle Pfeiffer reveals how she has adapted her family festivities now that her children have flown the nest

Michelle Pfeiffer has had to learn to relinquish some cherished Christmas traditions since her children started families of their own, but she still loves the festivities and now she's starring in her first Christmas film.

The three-time Academy Award-nominated actress, known for her roles in Scarface and Dangerous Liaisons, makes a rare comic appearance as Claire, the diligent but unappreciated matriarch at the centre of Michael Showalter's Oh. What. Fun, in which she features alongside Felicity Jones, Jason Schwartzman and Chloë Grace Moretz.

Michelle, 67, has two children - Claudia, 32, and John, 31 - with her husband, the TV producer David Kelley. In 2024, the actress revealed that she had become a grandmother for the first time.

Michelle, as a mother of grown-up children, did you relate to Claire?

"I really did. I think every parent understands how hard that shift in family dynamics is, as your children get older and become adults. Christmas is a big part of that transition into understanding that the kids for whom you made Christmas when they were little now have lives and families of their own.
