Royal-watchers were thrilled to see a parade of elegant looks when the family gathered for the traditional church service

EASTER CHIC

The Princess of Wales may have been absent, but the rest of the royal women more than made up for it in style as they stepped out for the family’s Easter Sunday church outing in an array of elegant outfits.

The Queen, wearing a pale blue Fiona Clare dress with a matching wide-brimmed Philip Treacy hat and taupe suede pumps, led the way and smiled as she arrived at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, where she and the King were joined by members of their extended family for the traditional Easter Matins service.

SPRINGTIME STYLE

Her Majesty, who waved to the crowds that had gathered in the sunshine, accessorised with pearl drop earrings and a diamond and blue-moonstone brooch. On being handed a pretty posy of pink roses by a young girl, the Queen said: “Happy Easter; thank you so much.”

imageMeanwhile, the Princess Royal recycled a favourite green printed coat that she has worn several times over the years, including twice to Cheltenham Festival. She accessorised with a green trilby-style hat and black boots, as well as a gold and diamond ribbon brooch that she has owned since the 1960s.

Princess Anne, who was with her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, appeared to be using a furled umbrella as a walking aid.
