From The Bear to his latest role as Bruce Springsteen, Jeremy Allen White is at the top of his game

- SALLY JAMES

COOKING ONGAS

Jeremy Allen White burst on to our screens in 2022 as fiery Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto in Emmy Award-winning comedy drama series The Bear. The US actor plays a passionate Michelin-starred chef in pursuit of culinary excellence, and now the 34-year-old father of two daughters has become an unlikely heartthrob off-screen.

Ahead of series four of the show, for which he has won three consecutive Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmys, the star says that playing a passionate chef means he has a deeper appreciation of the restaurant experience - although he admits that it feels "overwhelming" if staff give him special treatment when he dines out.

The actor has previously portrayed heavyweight wrestler Kerry Von Erich in The Iron Claw and Jessie Buckley's love interest in TV sci-fi romance Fingernails.

Last year, he became a global ambassador for Calvin Klein, and was recently named the new face of French luxury label Louis Vuitton.

Next, he's set to play Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen in Deliver Me From Nowhere, the eagerly awaited biopic about the American rock singer, in which he plays the title role.

Here, he talks about how The Bear has changed his life, what the new series holds for fans and what it's really like behind the scenes...

Jeremy, how does it feel to hear yourself described as a heartthrob?
