She has won rave reviews for adaptation of tender love story One Day, but actress Ambika Mod had a surprising confession to make ahead of its release.

"When I was first invited to the audition, I turned it down," she said last week at the premiere of the compelling 14-part Netflix series, held at Bafta's central London headquarters.
"Largely because I just didn't see myself [in that kind of role]. I love the book and I love the character, but I just didn't see it happening."
MAKING CHANGE
The 29-year-old actress, who made her TV debut as Shruti Acharya in the BBC's medical comedy-drama This is Going to Hurt, revealed why she was initially unsure about playing Emma Morley - a character portrayed by Hollywood superstar Anne Hathaway in the 2011 film adaptation of David Nicholls's novel.
