Stars including Amanda Holden and Holly Willoughby have offered heartfelt support to Davina McCall after she revealed she was undergoing an operation to remove a brain tumour.

The TV presenter announced last week that she had been diagnosed with a very rare cyst, discovered during a routine health scan. After consulting specialists and seeking support from The Brain Tumour Charity, she decided to have an operation to remove the growth.

Announcing the news in a video posted on social media, Davina - who has children Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 18 - said: "I'm posting this. It will be Friday morning, and I'm doing it because a few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company, and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare, three in a million.
