Nearly one-third of people who go on a diet don't shed pounds, but many still improved their cholesterol numbers, experienced a reduction in the hunger-signaling hormone leptin, and reduced their belly fat, which can lead to diabetes, heart disease and stroke, researchers at Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Israel's Ben Gurion University found.
