SUNNY KAUSHAL IS BASKING IN THE SUCCESS OF HIS RECENT RELEASE PHIR AAYI HAASEEN DILLRUBA, WHERE HE PLAYED THE SURPRISE FACTOR. TANZIM PARDIWALLA TAKES NOTES OF HIS EUPHORIA

Sunny days

Sunny Kaushal is on eventh heaven. His role in Phir Aayi Haaseen Dillruba, has won him applause. He feels the role has revitalised his career. Playing Abhimanyu, a character with a complex emotional arc, Sunny delves into a story of love, betrayal and dark transformations. He shares screen space with Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey, portraying a trio of characters tangled in a web of intense relationships and dramatic turns. Sunny feels he has come of age with this film. He has been appreciated by both his industry friends and the masses for the role over the social media. His smile broadens when you tell him that. In an engaging chat, Sunny opens up about his recent work, the challenges of filming intimate scenes, and the extent he’s willing to go for love. Over to Sunny as we ask:

imageHOW DID YOUR FAMILY REACT TO PHIR AAYI HAASEEN DILLRUBA?

My family’s reaction was a mix of surprise and admiration. My mom was initially quite taken aback, especially since Abhimanyu is such a unique character with his own quirks and darker shades. I was genuinely anxious about her thoughts because I knew the role was quite unconventional. When she told me, “I could not see my son, I could only see Abhimanyu,” it was incredibly gratifying. It felt like a major win because it meant I had managed to immerse myself so completely in the role that she saw me as Abhimanyu rather than her son. My dad (Sham Kaushal) and brother, Vicky (Kaushal) also enjoyed the film. My dad, being the critical yet supportive figure, kept pointing out the scenes he thought were well-executed or areas for improvement. Overall, they were all pleased and pleasantly surprised by my portrayal.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN DOING ANYTHING FOR LOVE?
