EMPOWERING SMART MANUFACTURING

In a recent insightful conversation with Sameer Gandhi, Managing Director, OMRON Automation India, he shared how Bengaluru Automation Center is accelerating India's shift toward and smart manufacturing.

Newly inaugurated in Bengaluru, this Center has been designed as a solutions-based ecosystem to address the real, on-ground challenges of Indian manufacturers. It is one of the ten globally established automation centers by OMRON and forms part of a network of 44 such centers and proof-of-concept labs worldwide.

The facility aligns with the broader objectives of Make in India by offering an environment for innovation and collaboration. It allows clients to evaluate solutions in practical scenarios and observe results in real time, thereby instilling confidence in the adoption of automation technologies.

SOLVING REAL MANUFACTURING CHALLENGES

Manufacturers often approach automation with caution due to concerns about return on investment, reliability, and complexity. OMRON enables proof-of-concept development and pilot testing before large-scale deployment. This helps in smoother transition from manual or semi-automated systems to intelligent operations without disruption.

The automation center also demonstrates technologies built around sensing, control, machine vision, robotics, AI-driven platforms, packaging automation, and quality inspection. These solutions respond directly to the demands of sectors such as electric mobility, electronics, food processing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and digital manufacturing. By contextualising global expertise for Indian needs, the facility ensures that adoption is not abstract but grounded in current industrial applications.
