ISO, GHG Protocol partner for emissions standards
Oil and Gas News
|October 2025
THE International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) have announced a partnership to harmonise their existing portfolios of greenhouse gas standards and co-develop new standards for GHG emissions accounting and reporting.
-

The agreement will combine ISO 1406X standards, the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting, scope 2 and scope 3 standards, and a joint product carbon footprint standard.
This harmonised portfolio will simplify processes for companies, increase consistency for policymakers, and reduce measurement and reporting burdens.
