INDUSTRY STALWARTS CONFER TO EXPLORE THE TRENDS THAT WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE OF MANUFACTURING

Formidable names from the manufacturing industry assembled to confabulate on the trends that will shape the future of manufacturing and examine how businesses could be aligned to the emerging technology trends for enhancing customer satisfaction and maximizing profits.
The round table conference, Framing the discussion-The future of manufacturing, presented by Manufacturing Today and sponsored by SAP, world's leading enterprise resource planning software vendor, saw leaders from the manufacturing industry engage in a discourse that was at once profound and incisive.
Sujatha Vishnuraj, Editor, Manufacturing Today and Krishnan Ramaswamy, Domain Consultant, SAP Digital Manufacturing and Managing Director Systema India co-moderated the event.
Thanking the panellists for their august presence, Sujatha Vishnuraj did the honours of introducing the guests. Laying down the agenda for the debate she called upon Ramaswamy to carry on with further proceedings.
INDUSTRY 4.0 AND MORE
"India is set to take the lead in manufacturing, but does the world see us that way?" provokingly nudged Ramaswamy and instantly drew the gathering into combative claims for Indian manufacturing's place in the world given its continued rapid adoption of technology.
"India is marching ahead and it is scaring the world," retorted Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Head Of Business Development, Renishaw India. He saw the industry currently working at low productivity and believed that the possibility of an improvement of just 5% was scaring the world.
