Techman Robot accelerates the future of smart welding with strategic global partnerships
International Metalworking News for Asia
|October 2025
The global manufacturing industry is undergoing a rapid transformation, fueled by the twin pressures of labor shortages and the demand for higher precision, safety, and efficiency. Nowhere is this more evident than in the field of industrial welding, where complex processes, declining pools of skilled welders, and the need for consistency have created urgent challenges. Techman Robot, a leader in collaborative robotics, is answering this challenge by spearheading partnerships that combine Al-driven automation with world-class welding expertise.

Two recent collaborations—one with CSBC Corporation and AMET Inc., and another with Panasonic Connect’s Welding Systems Division—highlight how Techman Robot is positioning itself as a driving force in reshaping welding across shipbuilding, infrastructure, and heavy industry.
WELDING'S ROLE IN A SHIFTING INDUSTRIAL LANDSCAPE
Welding sits at the core of shipbuilding, automotive, energy, and infrastructure industries. Yet, the discipline has long struggled with several challenges:
- A global shortage of skilled welders, particularly acute in developed economies.
- High defect rates when welding is performed under difficult environmental conditions.
- The sheer scale and complexity of applications such as ship hulls, offshore wind structures, and large steel frameworks.
Automation offers a clear pathway to address these issues, but traditional welding robots often lack the flexibility and intelligence to adapt to real-world variability. Collaborative robots, enhanced with AI and builtin vision systems, are now filling that gap.

Techman Robot's recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CSBC Corporation, Taiwan’s largest shipbuilder, and AMET Inc., a U.S. leader in intelligent welding technology, represents a breakthrough for the shipbuilding industry. The goal: to develop Al-driven collaborative robots tailored specifically for shipyard environments.
