Connecting People and Local Organizations to Solve Social Needs
Inc.
|November 2024
GroundGame.Health provides a holistic solution that scales one person at a time through human-to-human connection.
-

When Susan Rawlings Molina and Sri Akula were looking to start up a company around 2020, they knew they wanted to combine Molina's health care and Akula's product and technology backgrounds. They found the perfect combination in an existing startup, GroundGame.Health. The company's technology and services solution helped reduce emergency room visits by identifying and solving health plan members' social needs locally. Some of the most common social needs included food, transportation, housing instability, and financial assistance.
"And we were getting paid for it," Molina says. GroundGame. Health brought in $1.5 million in revenue that year. In 2021, Molina joined as CEO and Akula as president, raising money to stabilize and grow the business.
