Judging for Africa's largest and oldest dairy competition, the South African Dairy Championships, recently took place in Durbanville in the Western Cape.
The competition received a record 1029 entries in 2024, compared with 923 in 2023, and broke another record when it received 1 110 entries this year. The number of dairy producers who participated remained the same at 77.
Breyton Milford, general manager of Agri-Expo, which has hosted the championship since 1834, told Farmer's Weekly that he was delighted by the high number of entries and the number of participants.
