Indonesian farmers take a new approach to improve farming

The UN has commended Indonesian farmers who are taking a more climate-friendly agricultural approach by putting an end to the burning of land in the area.

This initiative was made possible by Indonesia’s Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency (BRGM) and the UN Office for Project Services.
According to the agency, it was already making progress on the island of Borneo as farmers were earning higher incomes and the healthier peatland reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
