Estcourt Farmers' Day unlocks opportunities

“When the quality is right and safe, the product will sell itself.” This was the message of the day during an inaugural Farmers’ Day hosted by Boxer Superstores in partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs at Emtshezi in Estcourt on September 15.
The two government departments helped equip farmers with strategies to access and supply markets and expanded on existing programmes that have been developed to uplift and grow small-scale farmers to commercial farming.
Agriculture MEC Super Zuma said he was appreciative of the partnerships formed with retailers. Speaking on behalf of Boxer Superstores, group executive: Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability Ntombi Dludla expressed her gratitude for the support received from government and the assistance provided to communities where they traded.
