Worldwide air cargo flown tonnages drops further

Worldwide air cargo flown tonnages continued to decline in August with a further minus five per cent drop in the last week alone and a minus ten per cent decline in the first three weeks of the month, the latest figures from WorldACD Market Data reveal.

This decline is steeper than last year when we saw a minus six per cent decline in the same three weeks.

This has to be understood in the light that air cargo is a trade facilitator that contributes to global economic development and creates millions of jobs. Air cargo transports over $six trillion worth of goods, accounting for approximately 35 per cent of world trade by value.
