Redefining India's Aviation Landscape
Cruising Heights
|February 2025
Kasstech Aerospace has been at the forefront of innovation in India's aviation sector, making significant strides in pilot training, advanced aircraft maintenance, and UAV technology. From obtaining critical certifications to addressing the growing demand for skilled pilots, the company's contributions are both timely and transformative. VIVEK SAXENA, Director, Kasstech Aerospace, shares insights into the company's journey, key milestones, and ambitious vision for the future.
MILESTONES AND ADAPTABILITY
Kasstech Aerospace's journey began with a significant milestone: obtaining CAR 145 approval for its maintenance base from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This was a turning point for us. It took a year to secure the certification in 2021, marking a major step forward. The company's resilience was tested during the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought aviation operations to a standstill for 18 months. During this challenging period, Kasstech pivoted to supplying oxygen generators to address urgent market needs, demonstrating agility and adaptability.
REVOLUTIONISING PILOT TRAINING
Pilot training remains a cornerstone of Kasstech's operations. The company provides advanced aircraft such as the Diamond DA40 and DA42 models to Flight Training Organisations (FTOs) and offers comprehensive maintenance support. India's aviation industry faces a massive shortage of pilots, with an estimated requirement of a large number of pilots in the next five to seven years. Currently, only 2,000 pilots are trained annually, with 80 per cent of Indian pilots receiving their training abroad.
