Wirtgen India launched locally manufactured equipment at EXCON 2025, including small tandem rollers, a soil compactor and roller, a digitally enabled milling machine, and what it describes as the largest recycler produced in India.

At a briefing held at EXCON, Frank Betzelt, Senior Vice President, Wirtgen International, informed journalists that Wirtgen, which began as a small sales and service unit in the mid-1990s, has exponentially expanded its India business. “India has become a production base, with 50% of machines built here being exported to over 80 countries,” he said, adding that the company would continue to invest in expanding its India manufacturing footprint to meet domestic as well as global demand.
