We bring you four simple strategies for improving building performance and efficiency
-
As environmental concerns continue to gain momentum, energy usage in buildings presents a logical entry point to bolster our infrastructure for the future.
With stricter regulations and social expectations, building owners and facility managers must focus on improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprints while also enhancing building performance.
Here are four key strategies to consider:
1. Retrofit Control Solutions
Upgrading HVAC controls is an opportunity to optimise the performance of your building’s HVAC equipment. Retrofit control solutions can be budget-friendly for building owners and easy for contractors to install and manage.
With millions of aging and inefficient rooftop units (RTUs), retrofit control solutions are a simple way for small or low-complexity buildings to improve performance. For larger buildings, newly available controllers in the market have more processing power and flexibility to adapt to unique system configurations. For instance, motion sensors enable room-level automation, and connected lighting and shade control help harness the building’s natural environment to deliver efficiency gains.
2. Better Project Specifications
