Mitsubishi Electric in India: Powering India's Semiconductor Ambitions
Bisinfotech
|October 2025
At SEMICON India 2025, one of the nation’s most prominent semiconductor and electronics manufacturing events, Mitsubishi Electric showcased its comprehensive range of solutions designed to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem.
-
The event brought together industry pioneers, policymakers, and technology innovators, emphasizing India’s growing potential as a global hub for semiconductor design, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
In an exclusive interaction, BISinfotech’s Ms. Nikita Kumari sat down with the Mr. Sumit Narayan, Head — Business Development & Key Account Management, Mitsubishi Electric India to discuss the company’s India-focused strategies, expanding manufacturing footprint, and alignment with the Make in India vision. The conversation offered valuable insights into how Mitsubishi Electric is integrating its global expertise in HVAC, power, factory automation, and fab-support systems to support India’s semiconductor growth, while simultaneously investing in local talent, R&D, and sustainable industrial solutions.
Could you tell us more about Mitsubishi Electric and the semiconductor-focused solutions you are bringing to India?
Mitsubishi Electric: When it comes to the semiconductor industry, we operate under a broad umbrella of solutions. On the mechanical side, we provide complete HVAC solutions— from low to medium tonnage cooling via air conditioners and VRF systems for office spaces and plants, to high-tonnage precision cooling through chillers. These chillers are critical in chip fabrication areas where specialized air conditioning is required.
We also offer vertical transportation solutions such as elevators and escalators for office and plant facilities.
On the electrical and automation side, we are strong in factory automation, supporting both fab operations and utility management. For incoming power, we provide transformers, type-tested panels, and switchgears.
