THE NATIONAL HIGHWAYS Authority of India (NHAI) is getting ready to make its roads work overtime - not by building more of them, but by selling their future toll collections.
According to ICRA, FY2026 could be a bumper year, with Rs 35,000-40,000 crore expected through toll-operate-transfer (TOT) bundles and the ever-reliable Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT). That would comfortably clear the government's own budgeted target of Rs 30,000 crore, making FY2025's haul of Rs 24,399 crore look like
