BRAZOS RIVER FISH CAMP

Sliding on the super skinny waters by Waco, Texas, (between Lake Whitney and Waco on the Brazos River) for some of the finest fly fishing to be found are Jordan Marsh and Will Herring, owners of the Brazos River Fish Camp.

Jordan grew up fishing and fly fishing with her family. They were members of an East Texas Fishing club. Will started fly fishing when he was 10 years old. Jordan and Will bonded over many fishing trips on the Lower Colorado River and throughout central Texas and Louisiana. They moved to Waco, Texas in 2021 for Will's business, which was a processing plant that turned feral hogs into pet food. They founded the Brazos River Fish Camp in 2023 mostly as a fishing-oriented outfitting business, but will be expanding it to include shotgun and thermal hog hunts.

Fly fishermen were suspicious of airboats in the beginning, but they came around when they saw how they could get you to unpressured fish.

Our 16-ft Patriot Airboat powered by a 7.4 LSX, 525HP engine holds eight fly fishing rods and four people.

The Brazos River has several miles that can be fished by a jet boat, depending upon the flows. Twenty miles can be fished by raft, with overnight camping trips available. And there are 30 miles that can be fished by airboat.
