The Jeep Compass has been a successful product in the American SUV maker’s India lineup and now gets a powertrain combination most buyers have been waiting for. Previously, Jeep provided an automatic transmission option in a 4x2 setup, albeit only with a petrol engine, which has since been discontinued. With the introduction of the MY24 lineup, Jeep India has added a 4x2 configuration featuring the 2.0-litre diesel engine, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Does this new addition enhance the appeal of the Compass or misses out on its charm?
