Tesla has set up shop in India with an experience centre in Mumbai. How quaint! Is this a knee jerk reaction to its grim situation in the US markets with President Trump raining fire and brimstone at Elon Musk? The timing couldn't be worse, or better, if things turn out well for Tesla in India, though I wouldn't bet on the latter, and I'll come to why shortly. Tesla has seen a 13 percent downturn in the US markets, its market share in China and several European markets is shrinking and this boils down to several concerns, not in the least Musk’s political leanings and ideologies amongst other factors. Those factors however don’t have much to do with how things could turn out in India.
