COACHMAN AVVENTURA 565

Having moved into the world of motorhomes with Mercedes- based A-classes and low- profiles over the past few years, Coachman launched the two-strong Avventura range in February this year, this time based on a Fiat Ducato but still geared very much towards the luxury end of the market.

On the outside the new vehicle looks very similar to the existing Sportivo models, with a bowed roof that improves headroom inside.

Coachman is now owned by Swedish company Kabe, so you get higher than usual standards of heating and insulation not just Alde heating and heated fresh and waste water tanks, for example, but also heating convectors inside the doorstep.

You get a standard Fiat cab, although having high-speed automatic transmission as standard pushes things up a notch. The 10-inch touchscreen fronts an infotainment system that includes a DAB radio and sat nav.

There are quite a few steps in this nearly 8m-long motorhome. The first of them is down from the cab to the front lounge, which includes two parallel settees that double-up as travel seats. Fortunately they are Aguti seats, which fold away completely separately from the structure of the settees, so there is no compromise on comfort.
