Cobot Revolution: Precision for India's Next-Gen Manufacturing

In an era where human-robot collaboration is revolutionising industrial production, the ability to communicate with robots in natural language is transforming the landscape of automation. This shift is not only enhancing efficiency but also paving the way for more intuitive, flexible, and safer manufacturing environments.

The human-robot collaboration is set to disrupt industrial production. You see, we don't need to talk to robots in machine language anymore. The world of robotics and automation is entering an age where we can communicate with and facilitate automation in human language. The changes we are seeing today will revolutionize the way the world applies robotics, and industrial production is leading the charge.

The demand for robotics and automation in manufacturing, whether heavy industries or consumer-centric such as electronics and automotive is leading to a sharp spike in the usage of articulated robots which are industrial robots that mimic human arm movements and a known for their versatile applications and collaborative robots (or cobots) that share the workspace with humans.

The robotics market size is estimated at $45.85 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach $95.93 billion by 2029, growing at 15.91%, according to Mordor Intelligence. India clocked a remarkable 47% growth in robot installations in 2021, according to a report by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR).

It is about time because the challenges for robotics are mounting – labour shortages, supply chain disruptions, high wastage, high precision needs, demand for greater workflow flexibility and a volatile economy. Industrial automation, for example, helps several companies meet skilled labour shortages, reduce downtime, and increase the efficiency of their processes and the longevity of their assets.
