IT WAS A WELL-KNOWN FACT that the eight-time champion, Sébastian Ogier (Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT), was competing in the 2025 World Rally Championship on a part-time basis.

So, naturally, after missing three rallies, a title challenge surely would be out of the question. Well, he not only remained in the hunt but was just three points off teammate Elfyn Evans, with Kalle Rovanpera a further 21 points back, making it one of the closest World Rally Championship (WRC) title finales in recent years.
