SWITCHGEAR WILL RETURN TO MERCEDES CABINS
Autocar UK
|September 24, 2025
MERCEDES-BENZ WILL begin to reintegrate more physical controls into its cabins, because “the data shows us physical buttons are better”, its software boss Magnus Östberg has told Autocar.
-

The move has already started with the new GLC EQ SUV and CLA Shooting Brake, which both feature a host of rockers, rollers and buttons on a newly designed steering wheel.
This wheel will be used in Mercedes' future models, and the plan is also to fit it to all of those already on sale, starting with the CLA saloon.
