Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India's first-ever electric offerings will be manufactured at the Narsapura plant near Bengaluru, Karnataka. Abhinav Jakhar has more details on the Activa e: and QC1
The electric two-wheeler space in In'dia has just gained its most prominent player yet. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has finally forayed into the EV space with the Activa e: and QC1. Both electric scooters were unveiled in Bengaluru, which is considered the de facto home of the electric scooter in India. HMSI's Activa e: is similar to the CUV e: showcased by Honda at EICMA 2024, albeit with changes to the design language and specifications. The year earlier, the Japanese automotive giant had also unveiled the EM 1e:, which bears some similarity to the QC1, but not as much as the CUV e: and Activa e: do. Honda will open bookings for both scooters on January 1, 2025, and deliveries will commence in February.
Both the EV models will be manufactured at HMSI's Narsapura plant near Bengaluru, Karnataka. Both models will be offered with a three-year/50,000km warranty, along with three free services for the first year. For the QC1, this includes the vehicle, motor and battery warranty. The Activa e: gets only motor and vehicle warranty.
