INTEGRATED DRIVELINE SOLUTIONS
Auto Components India
|February 2025
As the automotive industry moves towards electrification and intelligent mobility, integrated driveline solutions are a fundamental requirement, writes Upendra Kasbekar.
The global automotive sector is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by regulatory changes, efficiency demands, and rapid technological advancements. At Yashobhoomi, Delhi, the ‘Components Show’ served as a premier platform where industry leaders showcased ground breaking developments in integrated driveline solutions. From innovative e-axles to AI-powered torque management systems, leading firms demonstrated innovations shaping the future of mobility. Companies such as ZF, Eaton, BorgWarner, Schaeffler, and Brakes India took centre stage, unveiling technologies designed to enhance efficiency and safety across all vehicle segments.
ZF’s next-gen e-drive
ZF, a global pioneer in driveline and chassis technology, is at the forefront of mobility evolution with its latest integrated driveline solutions. The company reaffirmed its dedication to sustainable, safe, and intelligent transportation, aligning with India’s growing emphasis on advanced mobility solutions.
A standout feature at ZF’s exhibit was its ground breaking X-by-Wire technology, which replaces traditional mechanical and hydraulic linkages with electronic signals. This shift enables enhanced vehicle control, superior steering flexibility, and improved driving stability, key aspects of software defined vehicles. ZF’s brake-by-wire, steer-by-wire, and electronically controlled active damping systems demonstrated how these technologies are elevating safety, customisation, and overall driving comfort.
ZF also showcased its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), integrating radar and camera-based solutions to improve road safety.
