THE FJ CRUISER HASN'T SEEN A LOT OF USE LATELY, BUT WITH 20,000KM ON ITS COOPER AT3 LT TYRES WE THOUGHT IT TIME TO TAKE A LOOK AT HOW THEY ARE PERFORMING

I ADMIT the last time I wrote about these Cooper AT3 LT tyres I mentioned there'd be a review at 10,000km. With the FJCruiser being a daily driver and a weekend warrior, that would've made sense, however, I regularly get thrown the keys to press-fleet vehicles to drive and test, and often for a few months at a time, so the FJ sat sullen outside the house for extended periods, just catching bird poop.

After fitting a new battery and dropping it off for a well-overdue service (including a tyre rotation) at Terrain Tamer, there's now around 20,000 clicks on the Coopers AT3 LTs.

What makes the AT3 LT a great tyre choice is its advanced technology silica compound, which is claimed to have up to four times more coupled silica than other tyres to provide more contact on the road, less bounce, less friction and better grip, as well as increased mileage.
