What two architects and a wellness expert see when they walk into a room

INSIDE VIEW: EPISODE 3 – THE SPATIAL EXPERIENCE

In a city where “space is a luxury,” creating environments that support health and movement demands more than just good looks. It asks for sensitivity, problem-solving, and a keen understanding of how we live—and how we want to feel. Episode 3 of Inside View—presented by Schueco India in collaboration with Architecture+Design and Lifestyle Asia Magazine—brings together Sumaya Dalmia, founder of the wellness brand Sumaya; architect Natasha Kochhar of LTDF Architecture + ID; and Archana Baid of AND Design Co., in a conversation on space, movement and design.

image“Design itself means solving for another,” Natasha points out. And in the world of wellness, that means working around constraints—tight floor plates, no natural light, limited ventilation—while still offering users a space that feels intuitive and energising.

Sumaya recalls one such early collaboration with Natasha, when she wanted to create a personal training space in a compact location. “When I came into your office, I remember I had this vision about what a studio of mine would look like. And it wasn’t very big”, says Sumaya. “And I remember sitting and talking to you and saying, listen, my space is so small, but I want it to be like a one-on-one workout studio,” she adds.

That studio set the tone for both their trajectories. “That was also my first fitness wellness space,” Natasha adds, “inspired by yours truly.”
