FOSTERING CREATIVITY

Project: Urban Zen Office; Architects: Urban Zen Designed by Urban Zen, the workspace is envisioned as a creative environment that conveys a keen sense of design to the visitors who step into the space.
-
The workspace, conceptualized and designed by the firm's own founder, is an embodiment of his language of design and his personal taste while transcending the ideology of the firm to the clients and vendors. The workspace design is envisioned as a creative environment that conveys a keen sense of design to the visitors who step into the space.
The office is planned to accommodate an open layout of the workspace, along with workshops, libraries, multiple conference rooms, and breakout spaces, that make the employees consider it a first, if not a second home. The office's entry foyer and reception themselves make an arresting statement, dressed in raw textures, while the sculptures are placed with restraint and only at certain action points. The walls are finished with concrete so that the materiality and sight flow with the experience. At the face of it, the office looks very gentle, but once we start getting closer and feeling the tactile part of the surfaces, one can realize that there is more to it and appreciate the nuances. For instance, the reception lobby features a ceiling with a spider web trellis in wood, metaphorically representing the firm's affinity towards their clients, whom they have mesmerized through their web of creativity.
