POWERHOUSE DUO

When a mother and son duo bring their energies together, imagine the dynamic powerhouse that is created. That is exactly what Raipur-based design firm Creations & Urban Saints, a dynamic combination of legacy and creativity, is. Creations, founded by Shilpi Sonar in 1988, brings legacy and experience, while Urban Saints, established in 2018 by her son Satyadeep Sonar, brings in the vision and innovative perspective on everyday environments. Together, they are a force to reckon with, swaying their magic wand on projects across the country, starting from their hometown, Raipur! Banking on an extensive legacy encompassing 3500+ projects and 36 years of experience, Urban Saints x Creations enables the mother-son duo to offer a wide range of design solutions, from opulent to conservative, tailored to various family styles and socio-economic backgrounds. Having worked with brands like Jaipur Rugs, Larsen & Toubro, Grasim and Dalmia Cement Group, the duo is contributing to the design landscape of India, one project at a time.

imageSumisha Gilotra, Editor, Architect and Interiors India, gets candid with this design duo to reveal some fun secrets about working together as a family yet playing powerful leadership roles in their own right. Tell us a bit about your journey so far, and what is the secret to your dual success?

Satyadeep: Honestly, there is no secret. We both just love our work and treat it like our baby. Mom is a master and I am still learning. And I take full advantage of being her “sonshine”!
