Babbinswood Organic Farm seeks community ownership

A family-run organic farm in Shropshire is looking for new owners – and it could be you!

Babbinswood Organic Farm near Oswestry is a certified Organic, holistically managed farm with a pioneering cow-with-calf dairy, where the calves remain with their mothers, feeding and weaning in a natural manner. There's also a community garden and heritage orchard running regular workshops, a holistic veterinary practice on-site, and a farm shop selling their organic produce. All in all, it's a thriving place, but a change in circumstances means half the farmland has to be sold. Rather than see their farm close, the local community has set up the Babbinswood Farm Community Benefit Society (BFCBS), and is seeking to buy the land, which will then be rented back to the farm business.
