Q Should I be feeding my asparagus in March?

This is not a hungry vegetable, so all you will need to do is to put a thinnish layer of compost over your asparagus crowns each year before they start to shoot. This, combined with leaving their feathery fronds to photosynthesise from midsummer, will give them ample food for a good production of juicy spears.
