Back-to-back grand prix victory, and stars on the rise defined a packed few days of jumping
JACK STIRLING claimed his second Addington grand prix on the bounce with the “hard to beat” 11-year-old mare OS Vino.
He topped 11 combinations in Nigel Jess’s jump-off with the fastest of five double clears, also collecting fifth on the less-experienced Crunchie OS.
Lottie Tutt took runner-up, 1.7sec slower on Billy Outspoken, while John Whitaker was third on Cornet’s Alona, one of two horses he piloted through.
“She’s a horse I have ridden for most of her career, so I know her inside out,” Jack said. “I schooled round on my first horse, but with her, she’s just so game and incredibly fast when you let her off. It’s not every day you get to beat John Whitaker!”
Crunchie and Vino are two of the horses retained following downsizing after the sale of the Oakingham Stud.
