The Prey Model Raw (PMR) diet and its variant, the Franken Prey approach, are feeding methods that replicate the natural diets of wild carnivores, such as wolves and wild cats. These diets aim to provide companions with nutrition similar to what they'd consume in the wild, consisting primarily of muscle meat, organs and bones from animals like rabbits, rodents and birds. The PMR diet promotes species-appropriate nutrition that supports pets’ physiological needs.

The PMR and Franken Prey Approaches

While PMR focuses on feeding whole prey animals, Franken Prey combines different cuts from various animals to create a balanced diet. This flexibility allows pet owners to use a range of proteins—like beef, turkey, and bison—to diversify nutrients. Both PMR and Franken Prey approaches aim to provide balanced nutrition, mimicking a wild diet with whole-food components.

The 80/10/10 Ratio

PMR follows a simple formula: 80% muscle meat, 10% secreting organs, and 10% raw, edible bone, each serving a distinct nutritional role:
