SIR HENRY CECIL never reckoned the Flat season truly started until Newmarket’s Craven meeting (see below), and the Classic trials for the 1000 and 2000 Guineas next weekend threw up some interesting results, one of them being the sight of Frankie Dettori being dumped unceremoniously on his backside at the start of the Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes, having been unseated from the Dewhurst winner, Chaldean.
