Cats are some of the most adaptable creatures on Earth, with members of the family Felidae stretching across every continent except Antarctica. They have developed a wide range of techniques to survive at extreme temperatures.
Still, cats prefer the heat. A healthy, relaxed cat would happily leave the thermostat set between 85-90F. Though they might be uncomfortable, cats can control their body temperature until their environment gets up to 100F. Past that, they will need to find a cooler neighborhood immediately.
