Popular television hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies may lose their huge salaries and plum co-host roles under a secret cost-cutting plan being considered by Seven.

The Morning Show costs about $10 million to produce each year – including $2 million for Larry and Kylie’s combined salaries – and Seven executives are considering a radical proposal to axe it.

“The plan is to extend Sunrise by an hour each day and use the same team,” reveals one network insider, who says The Morning Show has been hit badly by the collapse of the TV ad market.

“There have been lots of closed doors meetings, and it hasn’t been signed off, but it’s looking like a very attractive option to the executives. It’s a huge saving.”
