Colourful, eclectic, flamboyant and bold are just a few of the words used to describe Australian entertainment icon Jeanne “Jeannie” Little since her shock passing on November 7.

The star’s death at 82 was announced by her daughter Katie Little Poulton on social media. Her emotional post was accompanied by a loving snap of her as a child with her doting mum. “My mother has left the earthly plane, she announced to friends and family. “This is a huge shock – but I'm so grateful.”

Jeanne, who exploded onto our screens on Ten’s variety program The Mike Walsh Show in 1974 and won the TV WEEK Gold Logie in 1976, was diagnosed with rapidonset Alzheimer's disease in 2009.

HEARTBREAKING CALL

“I think I’m still in shock,” Katie confessed last week. “To have suddenly got a phone call on Saturday night saying that she had died, I nearly dropped my phone and couldn’t believe it,” she explained of the heartbreaking news, which was made even worse by the fact that Katie had not been able to visit her mother since January due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

Jeanne, who hosted her own chat series,
