Princess Eugenie welcomed her firstborn child – a son – last week, sparking a pile-on of congratulatory messages from the Queen and Prince Philip down to the Duchess of Cambridge’s brother James Middleton.
But there was one royal, or formerly so, couple who remained strangely silent on the happy news – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Sources tell Woman’s Day Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, “privately congratulated” Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank on the arrival of their baby boy, but their salutations “came with a large dose of passive aggression”.
“Meghan basically made it clear she thought it was ‘super cute’ that they took inspiration for baby York’s birth announcement photo from an artistic photo of her hand holding Archie’s foot that she shared on Mother’s Day, soon after his birth,” says a source.
