Oozing confidence and smiling from ear to ear, it’s clear that Martine McCutcheon is feeling great. And we’re not surprised. The mum to two-year-old Rafferty has just lost over a stone in weight and is looking fantastic. But the journey hasn’t been easy. Here, the Love Actually star, 40, who’s married to musician Jack McManus, 32, tells us more…

Wow Martine, you look great! 

It’s just amazing that a stone can make you look so different. It’s nice to be able to slip on things and they fit. It makes life a lot nicer – feeling confident, lighter and a bit healthier.

How much have you lost? 

Just over a stone and 21 inches from my body, in six weeks. I’m now a size 12. Before I was a 15, not quite a 16, I was in that funny in-between stage and that’s when I was like, ‘I’m not going to be a 16!’ Thankfully I stopped it before I got there, I was like, ‘I don’t want to reach that point.’

Was it that fear that drove you to start the diet?
