1 IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE ARCHITECTURE

A romantic mix of tumbling cobbled streets, baroque churches, and terracotta-tiled roofs, Porto is one of Europe's oldest and most photogenic - cities. From the beautiful cathedral to the historic Ribeira district, you'll get a glimpse of its fascinating past on a short stroll across the old town. Look out for some of the elaborately designed landmarks of the city, from the soaring Clérigos Tower (you can climb all the way to the top) to the neoclassical Palácio da Bolsa. Don't forget to cross the steely Dom Luís I bridge, set high over the Douro River, for a great panoramic view.
