With recent cases exposing celebs' most intimate moments, we ask, are we all guilty of oversharing?

- VERONIQUE HAWKSWORTH

ON TRIAL in front of the world

Not one, but two controversial celebrity court cases have been rocking our social media feeds. The shocking claim by Coleen Rooney in October 2019 that fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy had been leaking her private information to the press was enough to leave Miss Marple herself impressed. Dubbed Wagatha Christie, the spat has culminated in Vardy bringing a £3 million High Court libel case against Rooney.

On the other side of the pond, Hollywood star Johnny Depp has been facing off with fellow actor and ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp is attempting to sue Heard for defamation, after she alluded to domestic abuse in an article for The Washington Post in 2018.

No matter whose side you're on, there's one thing both cases have in common – their most personal, intimate moments and conversations have been put on show for the world to judge. At a time when we're all online, should we be following suit and airing our dirty laundry in public, or are some matters best kept private?

KEEPING IT PRIVATE

'MY CLIENTS COULDN'T EVEN FIGURE OUT IF I WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP'

Sonya Dhillon, 33, owns Ricco Events & Public Relations

When it comes to my personal life, I've always kept things private.

I deal with social media every day at work, advising businesses and influencers on how to best represent themselves online. I kept my identity separate from my business for years, ducking out of photo ops at corporate events, and my clients couldn't even figure out if I was in a relationship, married or had kids!

I've recently started sharing more pictures of myself on social media, but only my best bits that will help clients to get to know me and my business better.
