We were certainly tempted to crack a joke about Posh’s singing bringing tears to David’s eyes, but this touching performance on BBC1’s Parkinson is proof from the early days of the couple’s strong emotional connection. The footage, filmed in 2001, shows a recently married Victoria performing her solo single IOU for a studio audience – and, sure enough, as the cameras cut away to a young David, he’s caught wiping a few tears from his cheeks.

2006
Despite England’s loss at the World Cup in Baden-Baden in 2006, Victoria was there to support her man. With fellow WAGs Cheryl (then Cole), Coleen Rooney and Elen Rivas, Posh looked every inch the doting footballer’s wife in tiny hot pants and huge sunglasses, and sporting a mahogany tan and hair extensions.
